Tuition
General Information
Private lessons are available through the Jupiter Academy of Music (JAM). In rare circumstances, it may be possible to have lessons in your home depending on location and availability. For rates and student registration, please contact me or the school directly.
Lesson fees are paid monthly, and are due on the first lesson of each month. Tuition payments are made in 10 or 12 monthly installments, beginning at the first lesson of the academic year. This is a payment plan for the total number of lessons in the year, not the number of lessons in a particular month. This ensures equal payments regardless of whether there are 3, 4, or 5 lessons in a given month. Lessons which begin mid-term will be pro-rated. Except in case of emergency or teacher cancellation, lesson fees are non-refundable. Please refer to the Studio Policy for full cancellation and make-up details.
Tuition Includes
• Weekly Lessons (a personalized study plan for each student)
• Teaching Materials (including the occasional arrangement prepared for the student)
• Planning for Events and Competitions
• Goal Incentives
• Teacher Development (continuing training, workshops, etc.)
• Professional Organization Membership
• Website Updates
• Printing Costs
• Lending Library
Additional event fees may be required for festivals, competitions, and other performance activities.
Students should also expect to spend around $50 per year in scores and materials, and to have their pianos
tuned/maintained twice a year.
Financial Assistance
If there is financial need, please do not hesitate to talk to me. Financial need should never be a barrier to quality music education. Students can apply for one of several scholarships through the Grace Notes Foundation at Jupiter Academy of Music. Scholarships are determined on a case-by-case basis, subject to annual review.
Delinquent Accounts
Monthly tuition payment is due on the first scheduled lesson of every month. For students more than two weeks behind, lessons may be suspended until payment is submitted.
